PE error !!! PE error !!! There is a problem in PE circuit of mains outlet, from which the ESC 2051 is powered: dangerous contact voltage or too high loop impedance (e.g. PE wire disconnected). Instrument’s keyboard is locked. You must disconnect the instrument from mains and connect it to mains outlet, which is not faulty.
  • Page 58: Reset Of The Instrument

It is advised to execute instrument’s RESET in case of any malfunction. All stored data and settings remain unchanged. Disconnect the ESC 2051 from mains, wait 30 s and plug it in again in order to execute RESET. 6.3. Leakage current and touch leakage current measurement methods...
  • Page 59: User's Manual Esc

Exposed conductive parts of equipment under test must not be connected to potential of ground; otherwise measurement results could be incorrect! The ESC 2051 measures even DC component of leakage current, if PE current during operation function is used! Measurement must be executed two times – with normal L-N connection and with interchanged L-N.
  • Page 60 L-N. The reason is that leakage current can “spread out” asymmetrically versus the power voltage. The method cannot measure DC part of leakage current. It is advised to use this method in cases, in which there is no possibility of isolating of tested equipment from ground. Copyright © 2004 ILLKO, s.r.o.
