4 Set the OmniBER OTN Laser to ON.
5 On the oscilloscope select Setup > Channel 3 > Advanced
settings. Set it to the correct optical wavelength for the
signal being tested and set Mask Filter to OC-192
(9.95Gb/s), ON,
6 Select Eye/Mask Mode, Mask Test. Select Open Mask and
open the STM064_OC192.msk.
7 Select oscilloscope Autoscale and allow the oscilloscope to
find signal and trigger inputs.
8 Start Mask Test and check the optical output meets the
"OC-192/STM-64 Eye Mask"
9 Set the oscilloscope to Eye Measure mode and setup to
measure the Average Power (in dBm) and Extinction Ratio.
Ensure Vertical Calibration and Extinction Ratio Calibration have been
NO TE
performed for the oscilloscope channel and vertical sensitivity range to
ensure measurement accuracy. Refer to oscilloscope information/Help if
necessary.
10 Check the average optical power is between –1 to +2 dBm.
