Step 4: Checking the symmetry

Next you will have to check that the X-ray beam is symmetrical. This is done by comparing
C-arm positions 1 and 3. Leave the ball phantom and alignment ruler in place.
Touch the Side field on the Arm calibration display to move the C-arm to position 3. The
C-arm will rotate 180 degrees. In position 3, the C-arm is positioned parallel to the arm of
the patient support table, however, this time it is positioned the other way round (see Fig.
26).
Check that the line on the underside of the alignment ruler coincides with the x-line on the
ball phantom.

If the lines do not coincide, compare the distances between the line on the alignment ruler
and the x-line on the ball phantom when the C-arm is in position 1 and 3. If the deviation is
more than 1mm, adjust the position of the sensor.
