TCAS Traffic Symbols – TCAS uses color–coded symbols and
data tags to map traffic and locate threat aircraft on the MFD. Each
symbol type is a different color, as described in Table 3–28.

Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS)

Resolution Advisory (RA). Represents an immediate
threat to a TCAS II–equipped aircraft. Immediate
traffic avoidance maneuvers are required.
Traffic Advisory (TA). Represents a moderate threat
to a TCAS–equipped aircraft. A visual search is
recommended to prepare for intruder avoidance.
Proximate Advisory. Represents nearby traffic and
other traffic the TCAS surveillance has in its track
file.
Other Advisory.
