The PRIMUS
II Integrated Radio System accomplishes the following
functions:

Very high frequency (VHF) communication
D
VHF omnidirectional range (VOR)
D
Instrument landing system (ILS)
D
Distance measuring equipment (DME)
D
Marker beacon navigation data
D
Automatic direction finder (ADF) (optional)
D
Air traffic control transponder (optional).
The units are connected through the radio system bus for high speed,
two–way data exchange. Audio signals are transmitted from the remote
units to the audio panel through a dedicated data bus.
TRAFFIC ALERT AND COLLISION AVOIDANCE
SYSTEM (TCAS) (OPTIONAL)
The optional TCAS receives air data information from the MADC.
Heading and attitude data are supplied by the DG and VG, respectively.
TCAS presentations are displayed on the MFD with selected aircraft
traffic and conflict avoidance information.
ENHANCED GROUND PROXIMITY WARNING
SYSTEM (EGPWS) (OPTIONAL)
The optional enhanced ground proximity warning system gives terrain
cautions/warnings and terrain map information.
