4.2.6 Angle Position Encoder

Other angle position encoders can be installed in addition
to the resolver.
Single-turn
The single-turn encoder provides the rotor position with a
17 bit resolution. It communicates using the BiSS protocol.
Multi-turn
The multi-turn encoder provides the rotor position with a
resolution of 17 bits per turn. The number of turns is
accumulated in a 12-bit counter. This allows a maximum of
4096 turns to be counted. It communicates using the BiSS
protocol.
