These jumpers allow you to configure the serial COM ports to RS232, RS422 (full duplex) or
RS485. JP5, JP6 and JP12 are used to configure serial COM port 1. JP7, JP13 and JP14 are
used to configure serial COM port 2. The pin functions of COM port 1 and COM port 2 will vary
according to these jumpers' settings.
Both COM1 and COM2 are wired as either external ports or internal connectors. You can also
configure the RS485 auto flow mechanism through the BIOS setup utility. For more informa-
tion, refer to Chapter 7.

Note:
When COM1 RS232/422/485 is selected, JP5 and JP12 must be set in accordance to
JP6. And when COM2 RS232/422/485 is selected, JP7 and JP14 must be set in accor-
