ETERNUS DX600 S5
One controller enclosure and up to 43 drive enclosures can be connected to the ETERNUS DX600 S5.
There are four connection paths between a controller enclosure and drive enclosures. For each connection
path, up to 11 drive enclosures and up to 264 drives can be connected.

ETERNUS DX900 S5
In the ETERNUS DX900 S5, multiple paths are used to connect the frontend enclosure (FE) to controller
enclosures (CE) and a controller enclosure to drive enclosures (DE).
In the ETERNUS DX900 S5, one controller enclosure and the drive enclosures that are connected directly to
that controller enclosure is collectively called a "node". When accessing a drive enclosure on a different
node, access the drive enclosure indirectly through the frontend enclosure.
A drive enclosure has two independent drive interface ports. Path redundancy is maintained by connecting
the drive enclosure to two controllers directly. This configuration allows operation to continue even if one of
the connection paths fails.
Up to two controller enclosures can be connected to the ETERNUS DX900 S5.
Up to 47 drive enclosures can be connected for each controller enclosure.
There are four connection paths between a controller enclosure and drive enclosures. For each connection
path, up to 12 drive enclosures (path 0 is 11 and paths 1 to 3 are 12) and up to 288 drives (for four high-
density DEs and two 2.5" type DEs) can be connected.
