22.4.4 Digital signal types

Most signal transmitters can be used with the signal types IB... IE and PFM:
Transmitter types
Potential free contact, Reed
Open collector up to 200 Hz
Open collector up to 10 kHz
NAMUR up to 200 Hz
NAMUR up to 10 kHz
Kamstrup 'slow'
PFM
For the above-cited signal types, the input signals must meet the following requirements:
Pulse input characteristic
Supply voltage
Input resistance
Low/high level
Pulse length (typical)
Min. pulse frequency
Max. pulse frequency
Transmitter classes (EN1434)

22.4.5 Functions for digital input signals

The following functions can be selected for the signals in the digital group (see table above). Other
functions are also available under the Special setting option.

Digital signal 'status' function
The status function evaluates the status of a digital signal. This allows evaluating the direction signal
of a flow sensor (flow reversal), for example, or the switching of a tariff.

Comment
e.g. flow direction signal, tariff switching etc.
e.g. volume pulses
e.g. flow-rate proportional frequency signals (not pos-
sible with signal "IB Imp." 5Hz )
Select an input with the
Signal type: Class IB pulse 5Hz acc. to EN 1434
Set to status input
Norm closed: Contact closed, if status 'on'
Norm open:
Contact opened, if status 'on'
In the example, the contact is open, so status 'off'
