Plugging in the DCE cable
a. Refer to the figures of the Step 2 on page 2-11.
b. Locate the cable by the label on the cable.
c. Touch the electrostatic discharge plate.
d. Plug in the RSF cable.
e. Fasten the cable ground to the frame with the cable clamp. The
cable clamp is fixed at the bottom left of the frame by one of the
three wing nuts.
Note: The cable clamp serves to reduce the possibility of radio
frequency interference that might be caused by the operating
machine. Proper installation of the cable clamp is necessary to
meet FCC requirements and to conduct electrostatic discharges to
ground.

Close and lock the door using the special door key.

Note: The CPC cable and connector are not provided by IBM, and, therefore, are
not shown here; neither are the details of securing the CPC cable in place given.

Starting
Before beginning, you must first perform the Step 2 on page 2-2 of the
procedure "Getting Started" on page 2-2.
If you are only plugging in a cable, go to Step 3.
Otherwise, continue with the next step.

Unplugging the CPC cable
1. Touch the electrostatic discharge plate.
2. Unplug the cable.
If you are going to plug a new cable, continue with the next step.
Otherwise, go to Step 4 on page 2-13.
