Overview
This chapter provides the software-related information for the PCIE-7217.
6.2
Management CPU Software
The PCIE-7217 software is based on CentOS 7.x Linux distribution. It runs on both the
Management CPU (mCPU) and the Application CPU (aCPU).
A service is started on the mCPU, which exposes an interface for you to configure the PCI
switch of the MC4100 system. This service is called MaxCore Configuration Service
(MCCS).
In addition to that, the software delivery includes tools to upgrade the firmware of the CPU
and CPLD and tools to debug the system.
The kernel supports the following features:
Unprotect the BIOS flash, when a full flash upgrade is necessary
Disable the PCIe Power Management, which is not supported by the PCI switch
The root file system provides a minimal server installation and includes SSH, DHCP, TFTP,
iSCSI, and libvirt supporting KVM and QEMU. A DPDK package is also available.
6.2.1
