Note:
Servers are shipped with default IP addresses and do not match the sites addresses or net
masking until configured.
Connecting Power
1. Test the commercial power source for proper voltage (see MPS 500 Installation Site Survey
for voltage requirements).
2. Set the main circuit breakers on the cabinet to OFF.
3. Connect the AC power cord for each cabinet to its associated commercial power outlet.
4. Set the main circuit breakers to on.
Connecting the Internal Network
The standard cabinet contains Ethernet Switch ERS 4850GTS.
All components connect on an internal (private) LAN using the Ethernet switch. Some of the units,
such as the AP, provide an external LAN connection on the server itself.
Network Security
The various components comprising the MPS 500 are configured as a local network with default IP
addresses chosen to comply with standards defining private networks.
Caution:
If you require remote access to this network you are responsible for any security related issues
that occur. Avaya does not supply a firewall or other security enhancing software.
KVM Console Sharing
The Speech Server and Windows AP servers are interconnected with a set of control cables that
allow them to share a common console, see
To select the server that is currently accessible with the KVM:
1. Press the Unit Select button located on the server to which you want to connect.
