Installing Software
The Redundant Ethernet software is already installed on new and upgraded MPS systems. The
following procedure is for reference only.
1. Install the Ethernet Control Driver and HP Network Configuration Utility for Windows 2008
R2.
a. Go to the directory c:\windows\oem\HP.
b. Double-click on the command script for the server type you are installing (for a G5
choose g5.cmd, for G6 choose g6.cmd, for a G7 choose g7.cmd, and for a Gen 8
choose g8.cmd) to start the installation.
c. Reboot the server when instructed to do so after the installations complete.
Configuring Software
1. Configuring the Teaming Driver.
a. Select Start > Control Panel > HP Network Config Utility.
b. Click OK.
c. Select both HP Gigabit Server Adapter entries, and click Team.
d. Click HP Network Team#1, and then click the Properties tab.
e. Set the Teaming Settings on the Teaming Controls tab to Network Fault Tolerance
with Preference Order. Make sure the network interface list in the bottom pane is
correct. If incorrect, click on the interface and use the arrow keys on the right side of the
screen to change the order.
f. Click OK to close the Configuration Utility window.
g. Click Yes to apply all configuration changes.
h. Wait for configuration to complete and reboot.
2. Modifying the IP Network Settings.
a. Select My Network Places > Properties from the Desktop.
b. Right-click HP Network Team#1, and select Properties.
c. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and click the Properties tab.
d. Select Use the following IP address on the General tab, and fill in the IP address,
Subnet mask and Default gateway.
