Connecting the power cables

This topic provides information on connecting the Message Networking system power cables. See
S3210 back views
and
S3400-H back views
servers.
To connect the power cables:
1. Connect the female end of the server power cable to the male power connector located on the back of
the server.
2. Connect the male end of the power cable to an AC receptacle located on the back of the UPS.
3. For S3400-H servers with vertically stacked type of redundant power supply, repeat Steps 1 and 2 for the
second S3400-H power supply.
4. Connect the UPS power cable into an appropriate AC power outlet.

Connecting the analog port boards

This topic provides steps for connecting the analog port boards installed in the Message Networking system to
the switch. Analog port boards are required on Message Networking systems using analog. See
system
for a list of supported analog port boards.
To connect the cables supplied with the analog port boards to the switch:
Note: Check the numbering on the board faceplate to verify that you are connecting the correct cord to the
correct port.
1. Connect each port on the installed analog boards to one end of a standard RJ-11 tip/ring cord. Note
which cables connect to which ports.
2. The other end of each cable must be connected to an analog line on the corporate switching system. You
can connect the individual tip/ring cords or you can connect the tip/ring cords through a harmonica. The
organization responsible for maintaining the corporate switch should make this connection (see the
customer contract or the statement of work).
