Using the Embedded Web Server

If an HAFM appliance is not available, or is not used to manage this edge switch, you can use the
Embedded Web Server (EWS) interface to configure the Edge Switch 2/32. Selectively perform the
following configuration tasks according to the customer's installation requirements:
• Configure switch
• Configure switch
• Configure date and
• Configure switch and fabric
• Configure network
• Configure SNMP trap message
• Configure user
• Reset configuration
NOTE:
This chapter describes the initial set up of the Edge Switch 2/32 using the EWS interface.
For additional information on configuring more advanced features using EWS, see the online EWS
help or the HP StorageWorks Embedded Web Server user guide

Launch EWS

Use the following steps to launch EWS.
Internet access and a standard Web browser is required. HP recommends Netscape
NOTE:
Navigator 4.6 or higher, or Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher.
1.
Ensure that the browser-capable PC and the Ethernet LAN segment (with the switch attached) are
connected.

At the PC, launch the browser application (Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer).
