4.6.2. Protective class II equipments equipped with mains plug

Touch leakage current on exposed conductive parts of equipment under test should
be tested.
We advice to use aluminium foil about 200 mm x 100 mm for testing of touch
leakage on equipments, which have no exposed conductive part. In such case coat
checked part with foil and connect it to test lead.
Firstly test insulation resistance (chapter 4.3.), if it is possible. Then you can
execute touch leakage current measurement.
Take into consideration all safety warnings!
Step 1
Press the I
DIFF.
Either result of last measurement or „---" will be displayed.
I diff.
Step 2
Connect test lead P 2011 with test tip P 3011 to SONDE terminal.
Plug in the mains cable of equipment under test to Test socket 1 (Fig. 12)
Step 3
Press the START key and keep it pressed. Symbol „ " indicates, that test voltage is
present in Test socket 1.
If you need to lock the START key (it means that test voltage will be present steadily in Test
socket 1), proceed as follows:
Press ▲ key and keep it pressed. Press the START key.
Release both keys. Symbol „A" indicates, that test voltage is present in Test socket 1.
Locking of the START key can be cancelled by pressing of any numerical key
(11 - 20) or ▲ key.
Test Socket 1 of the ESC 2051 must not be used for continuous power supply of
appliance! It is intended for test purposes only; max. test duration is 30 min. @
16A.
WARNING - DANGER!
If test voltage is present in Test socket 1 (symbol „ " or „A" is displayed),
then tested equipment starts to run after its main switch is switched on in
following Step! Take into consideration all safety warnings, referred to
equipment under test!
Do not touch exposed conductive parts of tested object after main switch is
switched on!
