4.4. Substitute leakage current
Test voltage is 230 V / 50 Hz, short circuit current is about 3.5 mA.
4.4.1. Protective class I equipments equipped with mains plug
Firstly test earth bond (chapter 4.1.) and insulation resistance (chapter 4.3.).

Then you can execute substitute leakage current measurement!
Take into consideration all safety warnings!
•
Do not touch exposed conductive parts of tested object while measurement is
•
in progress - risk of electric shock! Symbol „ " is displayed on LCD if the
measurement is in progress!
Step 1
Press the I
•
LEAK
Either result of last measurement or „---" will be displayed.
•
Step 2
Plug in the mains cable of equipment under test to Test socket 1 (Fig. 8).
•
Switch on the main switch of equipment under test.
•
Step 3
Press the START key and keep it pressed, until displayed result is stabilized, then
•
release the key. Symbol „ " indicates, that measurement is running.
After you release the START key, minimal measured substitute leakage current will
•
be displayed. This value is automatically written to the buffer, too.
If you press the CAL key while the START key is pressed, the displayed value is
•
„frozen" on LCD (HOLD function), but the measurement is still running. Symbol „H"
is displayed when HOLD function is activated.
