Test Socket 1 of the ESC 2051 must not be used for continuous power supply of
appliance! It is intended for test purposes only; max. test duration is 30 min. @
16A.
WARNING - DANGER!
If test voltage is present in Test socket 1 (symbol „ " is displayed), then tested
•
equipment starts to run after its main switch is switched on in following Step!
Take into consideration all safety warnings, referred to equipment under test!
Do not touch exposed conductive parts of tested object after main switch is
•
switched on!
Step 3
Switch on the main switch of equipment under test; its apparent power is displayed.

Displayed value can be saved to buffer by means of ▼ key. Writing to the buffer is
•
confirmed by H symbol displaying.
Step 4
Switch off the main switch of equipment under test.
•
Release the START key.

4.9.2. Current
Step 1
Connect optional clamp P 8010 to terminal 9.
•
Step 2
Select the current clamp mode; proceed as follows:
Press the MENU key; the main menu is opened.

Use ▲ and ▼ keys to select submenu „Set-up" and press ENTER.
•
Use ▲ and ▼ keys to select item „I external: No". Press the ENTER key and release
•
it in order to select „I external: Yes".
Press the ESC key and release it (repeatedly) until you abandon (sub)menus.

Once the current clamp mode is set, it remains set even if the ESC 2051 is

disconnected from mains.
As long as the current clamp mode („I external: Yes") is selected, „X" symbol

is displayed. There is no voltage present in Test socket 1 during measurement.

Enclose L conductor with current clamp (Fig. 16).

Switch on the main switch of equipment under test; it starts to run.
