MAINTENANCE
Tyre puncture
TVS Apache RTR 200 Fi4V with ABS is fitted with a
tubeless tyre on both front and rear wheel. lncase of
any puncture / tyre damage it is advised to visit
nearest tyre manufacturer Dealer or the tyre repair
shops who know the repairing methods of tubeless
tyres.
It is not necessary to remove the tyre from wheel rim
always to attend the puncture. Eventhough, if there is
a need of tyre removal, it is strongly recommended to
use a tyre removal / fitment machine. If at all, tyre
levers need to be used, the levers should be free from
sharp edges and care should be taken not to damage
the rim and tyre.
Caution
Side walls of the tubeless tyres which are in contact
with the wheel rim are only seals the air inside the
wheel assembly. Hence, care should be taken not to
damage the side walls of the tyres during removal /
reassembly.
Wheel balancing to be done every 1 year or every
12000 km. In addition, after every tyre puncture
repair or tyre replacement, wheel balancing to be
done.
Warning
Use of a tyre other than the standard may cause
instability and improper function of ABS.
Keep the toner ring upwards whenever the wheel
is removed in order to avoid damage to the toner
ring. Damaged toner ring affects the ABS function.
DRIVE CHAIN
Proper lubrication and adjustment of drive chain gives
long service life of the chain. Poor maintenance of the
chain causes premature wear or damage to the drive
chain and sprockets. The drive chain must be cleaned,
checked, lubricated and adjusted at specified intervals
mentioned in the maintenance schedule.
Even though the chain is cleaned, lubricated and
adjusted during regular service by the Dealers, the
user must clean the chain with a dry cloth and
apply TRU SPRAY / TRU4 oil as frequently as
every 500 km for better chain life and smooth
vehicle running.
Check, clean, lubricate and adjust the drive chain in
the following manner:
