SELF - MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
BATTERY
Battery is located below the cover frame R. TVS
Apache RTR 200 Fi4V with ABS is fitted with a
maintenance free battery. so it is not required to fill the
distilled water.
To ensure better performance and long from the
battery, you are requested to follow the steps given
below:
1. Park the vehicle using the centre stand on
a firm and flat surface.
2. Remove the cover frame R (refer page no. 3 ).
3. Check the battery voltage in every service and
charge if the battery voltage is less than 12.4V
charge the battery using MF battery charger only
at TVS MOTOR COMPANY Authorised Distributor
or Dealer / Authorised Service Centers.
4. Do not add additional electrical accessories.
5. While connecting the terminals, observe the
correct polarity. Connect the red wire to the ' + '
positive terminal and black wire to the ' - ' negative
terminal of the battery.
6. Apply petroleum jelly at terminals to prevent it
from corrosion.

Authorised Distributor or Dealer / Authorised Service
Center.
Caution
Never check the battery charge by shorting the terminals.
Always connect the positive terminal first (red wire) and
then negative (black wire) to avoid sparking.
If the motorcycle is to remain unused for a long time (a
month or longer), it is advisable to disconnect the battery
cables or have the battery removed by skilled personnel.
