Valve repair
52
The minimum leakage is dependent on the feed chem‐
ical, the feed chemical pressure, the temperature and
the plunger speed.
CAUTION!
The plunger may be damaged
If the tensioning screw pressure is too high, it can run
dry and then damage the plunger and the packing col‐
lars.
–
Do not over-tighten the tensioning screw.
The result of too high tensioning screw pressure
The feed chemical can no longer press though the
packing collars - liquid lubrication is prevented. The
plunger runs dry. As a result the packing collars are
scorched/burnt and the plunger damaged. Leakage
increases greatly.

Unsuitable spare parts for the valves may lead to prob‐
lems for the pumps.
Only use new components that are especially
–
adapted to fit your valve (both in terms of shape and
chemical resistance).
Use the correct spare parts kits. In the event of
–
doubt, refer to the exploded views and ordering
information in the appendix.
Clean the discharge and suction valves only one after
another as they cannot be differentiated using the arrow
markings.
