Purpose: Troubleshooting the circuit boards.
Recommended type: TEKTRONIX 1240 Logic Analyzer with Dl and D2 Acquisition Cards.
Troubleshooting Techniques
This troubleshooting procedure is arranged to check the simple trouble possibilities before proceeding with
extensive troubleshooting. The first few checks ensure proper connection and operation of associated equipment.
If
the trouble is not located by these' checks, the remaining steps aid in locating the defective component. When
the defective component is located, replace it using the replacement procedures given under Corrective
Maintenance.
1. Check Control Settings
Incorrect control settings can indicate a nonexistent trouble.
If
there is any question about the correct function or
operation of any control on the 11A52 refer to the Oscilloscope User's Reference Manual or Amplifier
supplement.
2. Check Associated Equipment
Before proceeding with troubleshooting, check that the equipment used with this amplifier is operating
correctly. Also, check that the input signals are properly connected and that the interconnecting cables are not
defective. Check the line-voltage source.
3. Visual Check
Visually check any part of the amplifier where the trouble may be located. Many troubles can be found by
visible indications such as unsoldered connections, broken wires, damaged circuits, and damaged components.
Especially check that all cables are properly installed.
4. Isolate Trouble to a Circuit
To isolate the trouble to a circuit, refer to Section 4, Diagnostics.
