Using symbol tables

14.14.1

Symbol table

Change options
It is now possible to make the following changes:
● Selection of the displayed PH in the symbol name
● Manual entry of status, symbol (Y00A00505), address (Y00A00182), data type
(Y00A00517), comment ((Y00A00011)) and signal designator ((Y00A00566))
● Linking of symbols with hardware signals
● Generation of default parameters for prefixes and suffixes
Updating
Manual updating of the symbol table is required due to the new naming mechanism. This is not
done automatically in order to increase the performance.
Exporting the hardware information
Through a query, it is possible to export and print the list of the symbols including their hardware
information.
Synchronizing the attributes
● When the symbol names are edited in the symbol table, the data is transferred to the IO
channel if the IO channel is implemented.
● When the comment is edited in the symbol table, the data is transferred to the real channel,
to the request channel object and to the signal description.
● When the data in the Symbol or Comment column is deleted, the inherited data is displayed
by the channel request if the IO channel is implemented. If the IO channel was not
implemented, deleting will only empty the field.
