Using enumerations in CMT/EMT
Requirements
● You have created at least one enumeration type. Enumeration type should be have
minimum one enumeration value below it, if you use it on CM/CMT instances. See also
chapter Creating enumeration types (Page 53).
● You have created one CMT/EMT with a parameter and wish to use an enumeration here.
See also chapters Creating a control module type (Page 25) and Creating an equipment
module (type) (Page 41).
● Parameter and/or setpoint have the data type INT, DINT, BOOL, BYTE, WORD or DWORD.
● The "Type configurator" plugin is open. See also chapter Opening the Type configurator
plugin (Page 59).
Procedure
1. Select the CMT/EMT on which you wish to use the enumeration in the "Type library" column.
Select the desired parameter in the "Type structure" column.
2. Select the field "Enumeration" in the "Type attributes" column.
3. Select an enumeration from the list. The display name of the enumeration type in the
"Enumeration" field is displayed.
4. Select the field "Value" which gives the display name of enumeration value.
5. Confirm your entries.
Editing enumerations
1. To change the usage of an enumeration on a parameter, open the parameter properties.
2. Select the "Attributes > Automation Interface" tab.
3. Edit the attributes "Enumeration" and "Value".
4. Confirm your entries.
The "Display name" attribute of enumeration type and value can be exchanged between PCS 7
and PAA in both directions. The value of the "Display name" can be edited in the "Type
configurator" plugin.
