P0660-MANIFOLD TUNE VALVE SOLENOID CIRCUIT —
TEST
3 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the MTV Solenoid harness connector.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRB, actuate the MTV Solenoid.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, probe the ASD Relay Output circuit in
the MTV Solenoid harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes → Go To 4
→ Go To 7
No
4 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector.
Disconnect the MTV Solenoid harness connector.
Measure the resistance between the MTV Solenoid Control circuit and ASD Relay
Output circuit in the MTV Solenoid connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the MTV Solenoid Control circuit for a short to the ASD
→ Go To 5
No
5 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector.
Disconnect the MTV Solenoid harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the MTV Solenoid Control circuit at the
MTV Solenoid harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Repair the short to ground in the MTV Solenoid Control circuirt.
→ Go To 6
No
6 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector.
Disconnect the MTV Solenoid harness connector.
CAUTION: DO NOT PROBE THE PCM HARNESS CONNECTORS. PROBING
THE PCM HARNESS CONNECTORS WILL DAMAGE THE PCM TERMI-
NALS RESULTING IN POOR TERMINAL TO PIN CONNECTION. INSTALL
MILLER SPECIAL TOOL #8815 TO PERFORM DIAGNOSIS.
Measure the resistance of the MTV Solenoid Control circuit from the MTV Solenoid
harness connector to the appropriate terminal of special tool #8815.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 7
→ Repair the open in the MTV Solenoid Control circuit.
No
ACTION
Relay Output circuit.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
Perform POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 5.
