P0562-LOW BATTERY VOLTAGE —
TEST

Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector.
Remove the Transmission Control Relay from the PDC.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Connect a jumper wire between Fused B+ circuit and Transmission Control Relay
Output circuit in the Transmission Relay connector.
Ignition on, engine not running.
CAUTION: DO NOT PROBE THE PCM HARNESS CONNECTORS. PROBING
THE PCM HARNESS CONNECTORS WILL DAMAGE THE PCM TERMI-
NALS RESULTING IN POOR TERMINAL TO PIN CONNECTION. INSTALL
MILLER SPECIAL TOOL #8815 TO PERFORM DIAGNOSIS.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the Fused B+ circuit in the
Pinout Box.
NOTE: The Test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to
that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes → Go To 6
→ Repair the Fused B+ Circuit circuit for an open or high resistance.
No

Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
Disconnect the PCM harness connector.
Remove the Transmission Control Relay from the PDC.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.

THE PCM HARNESS CONNECTORS WILL DAMAGE THE PCM TERMI-
NALS RESULTING IN POOR TERMINAL TO PIN CONNECTION. INSTALL
MILLER SPECIAL TOOL #8815 TO PERFORM DIAGNOSIS.
Connect a jumper wire between Fused B+ circuit and the Transmission Control Relay
Output circuit in the PDC.
Ignition on, engine not running.
Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check both Transmission Control
Relay Output circuits in the Pinout Box.
NOTE: The test light must illuminate brightly. Compare the brightness to
that of a direct connection to the battery.
Does the test light illuminate brightly?
Yes → Go To 7
→ Repair the Transmission Control Relay Output circuit for an open
No

Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
Install a substitute Relay in place of the Transmission Control Relay.
Start the engine.
Using a voltmeter, measure the battery voltage.
With the DRBIII , monitor the Transmission Switched Battery Voltage.
Compare the DRBIII Transmission Switched Battery voltage to the actual battery
voltage.
Is the DRBIII voltage within 2.0 volts of the battery voltage?
Yes → Replace the Transmission Control Relay.
→ Go To 8
No
ACTION
Perform 42LE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.

Perform 42LE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
