*OIL PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR NOT OPERATING PROPERLY

TEST
4 Turn the ignition off.
Remove the Engine Oil Pressure Switch.
Install a mechanical oil pressure gauge in place of the Engine Oil Pressure Switch.
Start and idle the engine.
Allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature.
Read the mechanical oil pressure gauge.
Is the gauge reading 27.6 kPa (4.0 PSI) or greater at idle?
Yes → Go To 5
→ Refer to the Service Information for the related symptom(s)
No
5 If there are no possible causes remaining, view repair.
Repair
6 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Engine Oil Pressure Switch harness connector.
Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the Engine Oil Pressure Switch Sense
circuit.
Is the resistance above 100 kohms?
Yes → Replace the Instrument Cluster in accordance with the Service
→ Repair the Oil Pressure Switch Sense circuit for a short to ground.
No
7 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Engine Oil Pressure Switch harness connector.
Connect a jumper wire between ground and the Oil Pressure Switch Sense circuit.
Turn the ignition on.
Is the Oil Pressure Warning Indicator on?
Yes → Replace the Engine Oil Pressure Switch.
→ Go To 8
No
8 Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Engine Oil Pressure Switch harness connector.
Disconnect the Instrument Cluster C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance of the Oil Pressure Switch Sense circuit between the Engine
Oil Pressure Switch harness connector and the Instrument Cluster C2 harness
connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
Yes → Go To 9
→ Repair the Oil Pressure Switch Sense circuit for an open.
No
ACTION

Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
Replace the Engine Oil Pressure Switch.
