Troubleshooting
Stop lights do not operate<BR>
Preliminary check:
Check an open lamp filament before proceeding with diagnosis. If bulb is damaged, check connection of the
bulb and replace bulb. In addition, check "STOP (15A)" fuse. If open, check for short to ground though the wire,
replace fuse and check that all system electrical connectors mated correctly.
Step
Connect for voltage at terminal A(R/W) of
1
stop switch connector F-05.
Is battery voltage present?
Check for voltage at terminal B(L) of stop

switch while depressing brake pedal.
Is battery voltage present?
Use a jump wire to bypass between
terminal A(R/W) and B(L) of stop switch
connctor F-08.
Check for voltage at terminal B(L) of RH
3
stop light connector E-13, terminal B(L) of
LH stop light connector E-14, and terminal
B(L) of high mounted stop light connector
F-06.
Is battery voltage present respectively?
Remove a jumper wire.
Check for continuity between ground and
terminal F(B) of RH stop light connector
4
E-13, terminal F(B) of LH stop light
connector E-14, and terminal A(B) of high
mounted stop light connector F-06.
Is continuity present respectively?
Inspection
Tes
Go to next step
Repair open or short in the wire "R" or
No
replace.
Yes
Go to next step
Check for a poor connection at stop light
No
switch. If OK, adjust or replace the stop
switch.
Yes
Go to next step
Repair open or short in the wire "W" or
No
replace.
Check for a poor connection at stop lights.
Yes
If OK, replace light bulbs.
Check for a poor connection at ground. If
No
OK, repair open in the wire "B" or replace.
