If your machine is connected to a private branch exchange, press ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ to select this type of
connection.

Press START . The facsimile machine shows the first parameter to be set for a private branch
exchange connection.

This parameter has three settings: dial number, earth and flash. If you are not sure of the mode
used by your exchange, ask the manager. Select the relevant mode by pressing ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ or ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ ↓ and
confirm by pressing START . If you select "dial number", the display prepares for the entry
of a number. Type the number on the numeric keypad and confirm by pressing START . The
facsimile machine displays the second private exchange parameter (in some countries, this
parameter cannot be accessed).

PULSE
One of two types of dialling may be used: pulse or tone. If you are not sure of the type of dialling
used by your exchange, ask the manager. Set the type of dialling by pressing ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ ↑ or ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, ↓, confirm
by pressing START and press STOP to move on to the next step.
