1-29 Automatic Motor Adaption (AMA)
Option: Function:
The AMA function optimizes dynamic motor
performance by automatically optimizing the
advanced motor 1-30 Stator Resistance (Rs) to
1-35 Main Reactance (Xh)) while the motor is
stationary.

NOTE
Please note that terminal 27 Digital Input
(5-12 Terminal 27 Digital Input) has coast
inverse as default setting. This means that
AMA can not be performed if there is no
24V to terminal 27, so please connect
terminal 12 to terminal 27.
[2] Enable Performs a reduced AMA of the stator

AMA option if an LC filter is used between the
frequency converter and the motor.
Activate the AMA function by pressing [Hand on] after
selecting [1] or [2]. After a normal sequence, the display will
read: "Press [OK] to finish AMA". After pressing the [OK] key
the frequency converter is ready for operation.
NOTE

For the best adaptation of the frequency converter,
run AMA on a cold motor
•
AMA cannot be performed while the motor is
running
•
AMA can not be performed on a motor with a
bigger power rating than the frequency converter,
e.g. when a 5.5kW motor is connected to a 4kW
frequency converter.

Avoid generating external torque during AMA.
