2.6.3 Controlling the Feed Motor
The following is a diagram of the circuit used to control the feed motor (M2). The feed motor (M2) is a 4-phase
stepping motor, and the circuit has the following functions:
- turning on/off the motor
- changing the rotation direction of the motor
- changing the rotation speed of the motor

ADF driver PCB
The CPU (IC9) on the ADF driver PCB receives data (command) from the host machine on printing mode
(magnification, operation mode, timing); in response, it generates drive pulses to drive the feed motor (M2). The feed
motor (M2) is a stepping motor, and its direction and speed of rotation are changed by changing the order of drive
pulses (A, A*, B, B*).
