Fig. 31 Configuration for DRM-884RC
The settings which can be made here are described in detail in the
chapters below . "Save to Device" is used to transfer all settings made
to the device . "Load From Device" is used to show the current set-
tings of the device . "Save Preset" is used to save the settings to the
computer and "Load Preset" to load them from the computer . Thus,
the settings can be transferred to another DRM-884RC . "Default" is
used to call up the default settings .

8.1.1 Renaming the device

The default device name is the type name "DRM-884RC" . To change
the name, for example with a reference to the setup location, use the
field "Device Name" .

8.1.2 Setting up zones

For each DRM-884RC, individual speaker zones can be defined . For
each speaker zone, any desired combination of the outputs OUT 1– 12
of all DRM-884 connected can be defined (
1) Select the zone in the left column "Zone Setting" and assign a
name . The following characters are admitted: upper-case characters
and lower-case characters from the ASCII character set, numerals,
space characters and the following special characters:
* - / ) + = ? . : , ; < >
Although other special characters are visible when you enter them,
they will not be represented correctly on the display of the micro-
phone after transmission .
2) Click the buttons in the corresponding column to define the outputs
of the corresponding zones for all DRM-884 devices connected .
green button = the announcement is sent to this output
grey button = the announcement is not sent to this output
To set all outputs to green, click "Select All" . To reset all outputs
to grey, click "Clear All" .
3) Proceed in the same way to set up all other zones .
4) Set the value "Max Zones Setting" to the number of zones set up .
Thus, the zones not required will not appear on the display, making
the selection of zones clearer .
Note on using the Dante extension DRM-884DTM:
It is not possible to directly select the outputs to the Dante network for the zones,
but the signal of a DRM-884RC is generally available at the auxiliary Dante channel
"Broadcast Out 1" and can be forwarded from there .
 chapter 6) .

8.1.3 Setting the volume

The control VOLUME (v) is used to set the volume for an announce-
ment . The volume is preset in the configuration window:
Mic Volume:
volume for the microphone
Chime Volume: volume for the chime
Master Volume: overall volume for the microphone and the chime

8.1.4 Defining the priority

When multiple DRM-884RC microphones are used in a system, pri-
orities must be defined: Use the field "Priority" to set a different
value (1– 8) for each microphone . A microphone of higher value will
take priority over a microphone of lower value . A high-priority micro-
phone will be able to interrupt the announcement of a low-priority
microphone .

8.1.5 Setting the chime time

The field "Chime Time" can be used to set the time of the chime
preceding an announcement . If no chime is desired, set the chime
time to the minimum value .

8.1.6 Replacing the chime

The chime can be replaced by a sound of up to 4 seconds . The new
sound must be available in the file format MP3 or WAV .
1) Disconnect the microphone DRM-884RC (fig . 32) from the master
device DRM-884 .
2) Connect the micro USB port (o) to a USB port of the computer
containing the sound file . The computer will indicate DRM-884RC
as a removable medium .
3) Replace the file indicated on this medium by the new file .
Note: Instead of being overwritten, the original file can be moved to a sub-
directory for later use . Once the new sound file has been saved to the root
directory, DRM-884RC will replay this file .
4) Disconnect the microphone correctly from the computer and re-
connect it to DRM-884 .
