Fig. 9 Connecting DRM-884IOP, front
The two RCA jacks (i) at the front can be used to connect audio
sources with line level . The LEDs INPUT (m) indicate the output level
of these jacks .
As an alternative to using the line level input A, a microphone
can be connected to the XLR jack (k) . The sensitivity of this input is
adjusted with the control (l): It is possible to activate a 48 V phantom
power at the microphone jack, e . g . for condenser microphones . To
activate it, set the switch (j) to the position ON .
Caution: Never connect any audio source with unbalanced output to the XLR jack
when phantom power has been activated . The audio source may be damaged!

4.6.5 Zone paging microphone DRM-884RC

Use a CAT-5e network cable (or a cable of higher category) to con-
nect the jack RD [(p) in fig . 32 of chapter 8 .2] to one of the two
RD ports (11) . The maximum cable length is 100 m .

4.6.6 Additional audio matrix routers DRM-884

Multiple DRM-884 devices can be combined to increase the number of
inputs and outputs . A maximum of 16 devices can be interconnected .
The devices are connected in a chain ("Daisy Chain Network Mode") .
1) Set the switch LAN/RC-NET (9) of the first device to the position
"LAN" and connect the device to the computer network via the
jack LAN (8) as described in chapter 4 .5 .
2) On the second device and on all other devices connected to it, set
the switch LAN / RC-NET (9) to the position "RC-Net" .
3) Connect the jack RC-NET IN (10) of the second device to the jack
RC-NET LINK (10) of the first device .
4) Proceed in the same way to connect the third device to the second
device etc .
As an alternative, the devices can be connected in the "Star Network
Mode": Set the switch LAN/RC-NET (9) on all devices to the position
"LAN" . Use the jack LAN (8) to connect each DRM-884 to a router or
Ethernet switch of the computer network as described in chapter 4 .5 .
Note: To send announcements to the outputs of another DRM-884 via a zone
paging microphone DRM-884RC, connect the DRM-884 to which the microphone
is connected to the other DRM-884 in the "Daisy Chain Mode" . In addition, a
Dante connection of the DRM-884 devices via the extensions DRM-884DTM is

required (
chapter 6) .

4.6.7 Dante interface module DRM-884DTM

1) Make sure to disconnect DRM-884 from the mains before installing
the Dante module DRM-884DTM .
2) Release the two screws and remove the cover plate (7) .
3) Insert the module into the opening so that the PCB of the module
fits into the lateral rails .
4) Fasten the connection plate of the module with the two screws
of the cover plate .
5) Use a CAT-5e network cable (or a cable of higher category) to
connect the jack PRIMARY of the module to the Dante network .
Note: If the jack SECONDARY is not used for any other purpose and you wish
to use the same network to control DRM-884 and to transmit the Dante signals,
the jack SECONDARY can be connected to the jack LAN (8) to feed through the
network signal .
Caution: Always set the switch LAN/RC-NET (9) to the position "LAN" before
connecting!

4.7 Power supply

To connect the device to the power supply, use the mains cable pro-
vided to connect the mains jack (6) to a mains socket (230 V/50 Hz) .
The device is ready for operation .
The extensions connected via the RD interface are supplied with
power via this interface . They do not require any additional power
supply .

5 Configuration of the Dante Network

DRM-884 is configured as a transmitter and a receiver in the Dante
network by means of the program "Dante Controller", available as a
free download on the website of the company Audinate . The settings
made via the program will be saved to the corresponding devices of
the Dante network so that the program is only required for network
configuration but not for normal operation . The following system
requirements apply to the computer on which the program "Dante
Controller" is to be executed:
Component
Minimum requirements
Processor
