[43] "Mute" function to mute the output channel; when the button
is red, the channel has been muted
[44] control / input field to set the gain for the output channel
[45] VU meter for the output channel
[46] switchover option to the other output channels
Restrictions when assigning names
When names are assigned (input channels, output channels, presets,
speaker zones), the following characters are admitted: upper-case
characters and lower-case characters from the ASCII character set,
numerals, space characters and the following special characters:
* - / ) + = ? . : , ; < >
Although other special characters will be visible when you
enter them, they will not be represented correctly on the display of
DRM-884 or an extension module .
7.7 View "Matrix" (fig . 21)
In this view, the output channels can be assigned to any input channels
desired . The channels are shown in the form of a matrix . Thus, the
signal paths between the inputs and outputs will be defined .
[47] "Input": input channels
The channels IN 01 – IN 08 are the analog inputs of DRM-884; the
channels IN 09 – IN 12 are the inputs of the extension modules .
The channels Net 01 – Net 08 are the inputs of the Dante interface
(Dante receiver) . They are only available when the extension
module DRM-884DTM has been installed .
[48] "Output": output channels
The channels OUT 01 – OUT 08 are the analog outputs of
DRM-884; the channels OUT 09 – OUT 12 are the outputs of the
extension modules .
The channels Net 01 – Net 08 are the outputs of the Dante
interface (Dante transmitter) . They are only available when the
extension module DRM-884DTM has been installed .
[49] To assign an output channel to an input channel, click the field
at the intersection of both channels . A green field will indicate
connection . To disconnect, click the field again .

7.8 View "Output DSP Channel" (fig . 22)
In this view, the signals of the outputs can be processed . The options
are almost the same as for the input channels, apart from the fol-
lowing differences:
– the expander/gate function is not available
– each output channel is equipped with eight parametric equalizers

7.9 View "Ducker" (fig . 23)
One of the possibilities to improve speech intelligibility of announce-
ments is to attenuate the volume of other audio sources (e . g . back-
ground music) while the announcement is made . The ducker will make
sure that this is done automatically . The ducker works basically like a
compressor, but it is controlled by a different signal .
[50] "Source Select"
[51] "BGM Setting"
[52] "Threshold" to define the level at which the gain of the channels
[53] "Depth": degree of attenuation

input channels whose signals (announcements) are intended to
attenuate the level of the other signals
"Local Input":
1 – 8 are analog inputs of DRM-884
9 – 12 are inputs of extension modules
Note: The priority circuit of the zone paging microphones DRM-884RC is
independent of the ducker function .
"Network Input" are the inputs of the Dante interface (Dante
receiver) and only available when the extension module DRM-
884DTM has been installed .
