FBC channel to automatically suppress feedback noise . The output
signals can be processed at the following stations:
➾ gain (GAIN)
➾ signal delay (DELAY)
➾ dynamic compressor (COMPRESSOR)
➾ high-pass filter and low-pass filter (HPF + LPF)
➾ 8-band equalizer (EQ)
➾ phase reversal option (POLARITY)
After digital-to-analog conversion, the signals of the channels OUT
1 – 8 are sent to the outputs . The signals of the channels OUT 9 – 12
are respectively converted in the extension module .
The parameters for the blocks shown can be set in the views "Input
DSP Channel", "Matrix", "Output DSP Channel", "Ducker", "FBC"
and "Auto Mixer" . Some of them can be accessed from various views .
To set values, click the arrows next to the input field or double-click
the field and use the number keys on the keyboard .

7.6 View "Input DSP Channel"

The processing options in the input channels and output channels
are quite similar .
Therefore, applications for the outputs are also described here to
some extent .

When multiple DRM-884 devices are in the system, "Device List"
will appear on the right of the status indication . From here, you
can go to the settings of another device .

7.6.1 Expander/ Gate

An expander is used to expand the dynamics of a signal by attenuating
the signal level below an adjustable level threshold . This will attenuate
noise below the level of the wanted signal .
[3] graphic presentation of the expander settings
(horizontal axis = input level, vertical axis = output level)
indication "G . R .":
green = gate open (signal level > threshold)
red = gate closed (signal level < threshold)
[4] "Threshold" to define the level below which the signal will be
attenuated
[5] "Attack" to define the time it takes the gate to open once the
threshold has been reached .
[6] "Ratio" : expansion ratio
The setting 10 :1, for example, means that the output level will
be attenuated by 20 dB when the input signal falls below the
threshold by 2 dB .
When "Gate" is selected, the expansion ratio is ∞ :1 and the
expander operates as a noise gate, i . e . a signal at a level below
the threshold defined will be muted .
[7] "Release" to define the time it takes the attenuation to reach its
value adjusted once the signal has fallen below the threshold .
[8] "Bypass" to deactivate the expander
[9] "Default" to reset all expander parameters
