5.3.1.1 – Data Log Files
Log files are created to capture a comprehensive record of all analyzer activities and cannot be altered. There are 5
circumstances in which a new data log file is created:
1)
At start up
2)
At midnight
3)
At midday (optional – turned off as default);
4)
When the configuration is changed and saved;
5)
If the system software cannot for any reason write to the current log file a new file will be created to
ensure that no data is lost; e.g. the file has been deleted, moved during a backup or already opened for
viewing in another programme.
*Custom Data Log Files
To accommodate users with specific data requirements, the OIW software enables users to create a secondary 'custom'
data log. A 'Custom Data' log subfolder will be created in the data log file folder, as shown in Figure 87 A. Custom log
files by default are disabled to reduce usage of disk space and therefore require a user to enable only as required. To
enable custom log generation see Section 3.2.3.1.1.3 – Custom Logs.
5.3.1.1.1 – Filename format
Each data log file filename will start with the Serial Number of the unit being logged, followed by the date and time of
file creation, followed by the day of the week (for quick reference) and ending in file type, as shown below in Figure 87.
For example the file ''SN00107-04_Dec_13-10_07_45_Wed_OIW_Data'':
SN00107 is the serial number of the analyzer;
04_Dec_13 the date when the spectra was taken;
10_07_45 the time the log was created;
Wed the day of the week the log was created;
OIW_Data the type of OIW file.
