11.15 Configuration Sets and User Sets

A configuration set is a group of parameter values with
all the settings needed to control the camera.
There are three basic types of configuration sets: the
active set, the factory set, and user sets. In addition,
you can designate a startup set.
Active Set
The active set contains the camera's current parameter
settings and thus determines the camera's
performance, that is, what your image currently looks
like. When you change parameter settings using the
pylon API or direct register access, you are making
changes to the active set. The active set is located in
the camera's volatile memory and the settings are lost,
if the camera is reset or if power is switched off.
Factory Set (Default)
When a camera is manufactured, numerous tests are performed on the camera and a factory
optimized setup is determined. This factory setup is stored in the Default set. It is optimized for
average conditions and will provide good camera performance in many common applications.
In the Default set,
the gain auto, exposure auto, and white balance auto functions are set to the continuous mode
of operation,
the Smart auto function profile is set.
The Default set is saved in the camera's non-volatile memory. It is not lost when the camera is reset
or switched off and it can't be changed.
For more information about
auto functions, see Section 11.11 on
the Smart auto function profile, see Section 11.11.6 on
