Unbalanced G.703 Data Traffic Connections

Referring to Figure 3‐10:
Connect and secure the pair of PL/0813‐4 Data Cables between the CRS‐311 and each
SLM‐5650/5650A (via the optional G.703 Interface Module) as follows:

From the BNC connectors labeled "J4 Tx" on the RMI or "J3 Tx"on the TMI, to

The SLM‐5650/5650A BNC connectors labeled "J3 Rx".

From the BNC connectors labeled "J3 Rx" on the RMI or "J5 Rx" on the TMI, to

HSSI Data Traffic Connections

Connect and secure the CA/WR9189‐4 HSSI Data Cable between the CRS‐311 and each
SLM‐5650/5650A as follows:

From the HD‐50F HSSI connector labeled "J2" on the RMI or "J3" on the TMI, to the
HD‐50F HSSI connector labeled "J7 HSSI" on the SLM‐5650/5650A.
3.3.4 Serial User Data Connections – CRS-311 to User
See Sect. 1.3.4 CDM‐Qx/QxL, SLM‐5650/5650A Modem Interface Modules for
detailed information on the RMI and TMI modules available for use with the
SLM‐5650/5650A modems.
Your Data Traffic from an external router, multiplexing equipment or test data generator should
connect to the connectors on the TMI labeled "User Data Interface". This interface replaces the
direct connection to the Traffic Modem's "Data Interface" connectors.
Because the Redundant Modem's function is to replace a faulted Traffic Modem, the RMI does
not have a User Data Interface.
