C ar Washing
B efore w ashing y o u r vehicle, re­
move insect residues. The car
sh o u ld not be w ashed in the sun.
Use o n ly a m ild car w ash detergent,
such as MB auto sham poo.
T h o ro u g h ly spray the car w ith a d if­
fused je t o f w ater. D ire ct o n ly a very
weak spray to w a rd s the ve n tila tio n
intake. Use p le n ty o f w a te r and
rinse the sponge and ch a m o is fre ­
quently. Rinse w ith cle a r w a te r and
th o ro u g h ly w ipe d ry w ith a cham ois.
If the veh icle has been run th ro u g h
an a u to m a tic car w ash - in p a rtic u ­
lar one o f the o ld e r in s ta lla tio n s -
rew ipe the recessed se ctio n s prov­
ided in the tail lam ps (fo r im proved
pre ve n tio n o f s o ilin g ) if necessary.
No solvents (fuels, th in n e rs etc.)
m ust be used.
In the w in te r, th o ro u g h ly rem ove all
traces o f road salt as soon as pos­
sible.
W hen w ashing the underbody, do
not fo rg e t to clean the in n e r sides
o f the wheels.
Tar Stains
Q u ic k ly rem ove ta r stains before
th e y dry and becom e m ore d iffic u lt
to rem ove.
W indow Cleaning
Use a w in d o w c lea ning s o lu tio n on
very d irty o r o il-sta in e d w in d ow s.
C lean w in d s h ie ld w ip e r blades w ith
a clean c lo th and d e te rg e n t s o lu ­
tio n . R eplace blades at least once
o r tw ic e a year.

Covers
Do n o t use oil o r w ax on these
parts.
Seat Belts
The w e b b in g m ust not be treated
w ith ch e m ica l c le a n in g agents. Use
o n ly clear, lukew arm w a te r and
soap. Do n o t dry th e w e b b in g at
te m p e ra tu re s above 80° C/1760 F or
in d ire c t s u n lig h t. Never bleach o r
redye th e w e b b in g .
Steering W heel, G ear Shift
Lever and Instrum ent Cluster
Use a ge n tle dish -w ashin g de te r­
g e n t o r m ild d e te rg e n t fo r delicate
fa b ric s as a w a sh in g s o lu tio n . W ipe
w ith a c lo th m oistened in lukew arm
so lu tio n . Do n o t use sco u rin g
agents.
Upholstery
Leather: W ipe le a th er u p h o lste ry
w ith a dam p c lo th and dry th o ­
ro ug h ly. E xercise p a rtic u la r care
w hen cle a n in g p e rfo ra te d leather as
its un d e rsid e sh o u ld not becom e
wet.
V elo u rs: Pressure m arks re sultin g
fro m dam pness and heat may ap­
pear to be stains. Such m arks can
be rem oved by w ip in g w ith a m ois­
tened brush, iro n in g w ith a w et
c lo th o r by tre a tin g w ith a dry sham ­
poo. Do not s it on dam p upholstery.
Q u ic k d ryin g is achieved by apply­
ing h o t a ir - fo r exam ple, by using a
