Do not a llo w the en g ine speed to
d ro p to o lo w at u p h ill g ra d ie n ts to
prevent the e n g ine fro m la b o rin g at
lo w RPMs. D epending on the de­
gree o f the in c lin e , s h ift se le cto r
lever to p o s itio n s " 3 " o r " 2" early
en o u g h to m ain ta in e ngine RPMs
w ith in best to rq u e range.
S to p p in g
For b rie f stops, e.g. at tra ffic lights,
leave the tra n sm issio n engaged and
c o n tro l v e h ic le w ith th e service
brake.
For lo n g e r stops w ith the e ngine id l­
ing, s h ift in to " N " o r " P" .
W hen sto p p in g the car on a slope,
do n o t h old it by means o f the ac­
c e le ra to r but use the brake. This
a voids unnecessary heat-up o f the
tran sm issio n .
M aneuvering
To m aneuver in a tig h t areas, e.g.
w hen p u llin g in to a p a rkin g space,
c o n tro l th e car speed by gra du ally
releasing the service brake.
A ccele rate g e n tly and do not pum p
the a cce lera to r. To ro ck a car out of
s o ft g ro u n d (m ud o r snow ), a lte r­
nately s h ift fro m fo rw a rd to reverse,
apply o nly p artia l th ro ttle .
