The First 1500 km/1000 Miles
The m ore c a u tio u s ly you tre at yo u r
e n g in e d u rin g th e break-in period,
the m ore sa tisfied you w ill be w ith
its p e rfo rm a n ce later on. T herefore,
drive y o u r ve hicle d u rin g the firs t
1500 km /1000 m iles at m oderate
ve h icle and e n gine speeds.
D u rin g th is period, avoid heavy
loads (fu ll th ro ttle d rivin g ) and high
RPMs (no m ore than % of m axim um
p e rm issib le speed in each gear).
Down s h ift at p ro p e r engine speed!
On vehicles w ith a u to m a tic tra n s­
m ission avoid acce le ra tin g by kick-
dow n. It is n o t recom m ended to
brake the veh icle by means of m an­
ually s h iftin g to a low e r gear. We
recom m end to select p o sitio n s " 3 "
o r " 2 " o nly at m oderate speeds (for
h ill driving).
