Engine Oil and Filter Change
R equired every 8000 km/5000 miles,
or at least once a year w hen using
year-round m u ltig ra d e o il; o th e r­
w ise at least tw ic e a year (spring
and fall).
Under severe op e ra tin g c o n d itio n s
o r if diesel fu els w ith high s u lp h u r
co n te n t (in excess of 0.5% by
w eight) are used, the oil and filte r
sho u ld be changed every 4000 km /
2500 m iles.

Severe Operating Conditions
In the case o f severe o p e ra tin g c o n ­
d itio n s o r heavy use m a inly in city
tra ffic o r o ver s h o rt distances, fre ­
q u e n t m o u n ta in d rivin g , p o o r roads,
dusty and m u ddy c o n d itio n s , tra ile r
op e ra tio n , hard and s p o rty d rivin g
etc., it may be necessary to carry
o u t m a in te n a nce w o rk at sh o rte r
than norm al intervals, e.g.:

Special M aintenance Measures
Brake fluid sho u ld be replaced an­
nually, p re fe ra b ly in spring.
The coolant sh o u ld be checked fo r
s u ffic ie n t p ro te c tio n before the start
o ff and d u rin g the cold season.
Have th e co o la n t (w a te r/a n ti-co rro ­
s io n /a n tifre e z e m ix tu re replaced
n ot later than a fte r three years (see
" Fuels, C oolants, L u bricants, e tc ." ).
