Tow-starting and Towing
the Vehicle
The rear to w in g eye is w elded
fro m below to the rig h t side o f the
spare tire co m p artm e n t. The fro n t
to w in g eye is located behind the
fla p in the fro n t b u m p e r panel
(arrow).
Flap rem oval: Insert fin g e r in the
o p e nin g o f the flap, pull the fla p out
s lig h tly and d o w n w a rd to remove.

To install the flap, engage the flap
at the to p and press in the b o tto m
securely.
E ngage ho ok o f to w in g bar from the
rig h t side o f the to w in g eye. This
w ill ensure adequate clearance be­
tw een the to w in g bar and the
b u m p e r panel o p e n in g d u rin g turns.
O nly to w -s ta rt v ehicle w ith the b a t­
tery c o n n e cte d and the key in steer­
ing lo c k p o s itio n 2.
W a rn in g :
W hen the en g ine is not ru n n in g ,
both the service brake and the
ste e rin g are w ith o u t p o w e r assist­
ance. U nder these circu m sta n ce s, a
m uch g rea te r e ffo rt is necessary to
steer o r stop the vehicle.
Tow-starting a Vehicle
with Autom atic Transmission
S h ift se le c to r lever to p o sitio n " N".
T urn key in stee rin g lo c k to p osi­
tio n 2 and have ve hicle tow ed.
To cra n k the e n gine, s h ift se le cto r
lever to " 2 " . Touch th e a cce le ra to r
o n ly w hen the e n gine starts firin g .
As soon as th e e ng ine has started,
im m e dia te ly re tu rn s e le c to r lever to
" N " .
It is im p o rta n t to a llo w the e n gine to
idle fo r at least 1 m in u te before
s ta rtin g o ff because the p re g lo w in g
process starts w hen the key is in
stee ring lo c k p o s itio n 2 and is not
im m e dia te ly d is ru p te d a fte r the en­
gin e has been to w -sta rte d. D uring
th is tim e the p re g lo w in g process is
c u t o u t a u to m a tica lly.
If the e n g in e has not fire d after a
few seconds, s h ift the s e le cto r lever
to " N " to p ro te c t the tra nsm ission
fro m dam age.
For a new s ta rtin g attem pt, tow -
s ta rt the v e h ic le fo r som e tim e
again w ith the se le c to r lever in posi­
tio n " N " and repeat th e sta rtin g p ro ­
cedure.
The same m ethod can be used to
sta rt the e n g ine in em ergencies
w hen ro llin g d o w n h ill.
