4.2.1 DEV
DEV statements define equipment available to IUP and assign logical unit numbers. The
first statement entered must be a DEV statement.
Otherwise, an error occurs.
It
is
good practice to enter all DEV statements first because some operational control state-
ments may cause device drivers of unequipped devices to be destroyed.
IU P allows up to 63 devices to be equipped.
