Unable to calibrate the Scintillation Tube Detector

If the calibration LED does not double peak during the calibration
procedure, the detector is faulty and must be replaced. See Chapter
6: FT-70 Calibration Procedures for more information.
X-ray counts decrease significantly within a short period of
time
If the x-ray counts suddenly decrease significantly and continues
to decrease, the STD is worn out and must be replaced. You can
view the active x-ray counts by using the X-ray Counts function.

High or erratic x-ray counts.

If the x-ray counts suddenly increase significantly or become
erratic, check to be certain the STD is grounded properly:
1. Remove the STD and wipe it with a clean cloth.
2. Wipe the mounting clamp and chassis also.
3. Check to be sure the grounding wire is secure at both ends.
4. Replace the STD making sure the mounting clamp contacts the
STD firmly and cleanly.
High or erratic x-ray counts
If the x-ray counts suddenly increase significantly or become
erratic, check to be sure the grounding wire is secure at both ends.

X-ray counts reduce to zero

The detector power supply has failed.
• If the detector power supply led is red, the power supply has
failed and must be replaced.
