4.1

Configuring the VPN Concentrator

To configure the VPN Concentrator 4500/4550 and 5300LF/5300LF2, complete the
following steps:
Step 1 Install a License on the ShoreTel VPN Concentrator. See
Step 2 Set the IP Address. See
Step 3 Optional: Configure the Out of Band Management Port (VPN Concentrator
5300LF/5300LF2 Only). See page 27.
Step 4 Optional: Create VLANs. See
Step 5 Connect Remote Clients to VPN Subnets. See
Step 6 Set and Display Link Settings for Ethernet Interfaces. See
Step 7 Configure Stunnel. See
Step 8 Optional: Create and install a Certificate Signing Request (CSR). See
Step 9 Optional: Configure the Username Database, MAC Address Whitelist page and
MAC Address Blacklist page. See
Step 10 Optional: Enable Remote System Logging. See
Step 11 Confirm that the LEDs on the front panel indicate that the device is
functioning as described in
Step 12 Test existing links using the web configuration GUI and the Command Line
Interface (CLI) as described in
Step 13 Configure VPN Parameters on the IP phones connected to the device using the
guidelines described in
4.1.1
Configuring the Out of Band Management Port (VPN
Concentrator 5300LF/5300LF2 Only)
The out of band management port (Port 3) on the 5300LF/5300LF2 can be enabled and
configured to allow system access only for management and configuration purposes. Once
enabled, HTTPS, HTTP , SSH, SNMP , and TELNET sessions will be allowed only through
this port and will no longer be available on LAN (Port 1) and WAN (Port 2) ports.
Use the Management Interface page to enable and configure the network information for
out of band management port. To access the Management Interface page, select System
Management Interface from the Configuration Menu.
