22 TCG - TIME CORRECTED GAIN

The TCG function increases gain as distance increases in order to achieve an overall level of
sensitivity for the same reflector at different distances. The gain is adjusted at each selected point
to display the signal amplitude at a predetermined reference level.

22.1 SETTING UP THE TCG FUNCTION
Before setting up and using the TCG function you must:
1. Conduct a two point calibration - see "Known Thickness Calibration" on page 30.
2. If you are going to use the TRIG mode, set it up before using the TCG function - see "Setting
up Trigonometry Mode" on page 37.

ADJUSTING TCG SETTINGS
1. Select MENU/TCG
2. Use the LEFT and RIGHT keys to scroll the value, or press ENTER to open the digits edit box
and adjust the value using the navigation buttons
3. Press OK to set the value and return to the menu screen, or ESC to cancel.
4. Press MEAS to return to the measurement screen.
