14 THE MEASUREMENT SCREEN

When the GAUGE function is set to FLAW DETECTOR, the FD700 series becomes a flaw detector
with the ability to detect the size and position of flaws and to differentiate between flaw types in
various materials and welded joints.
Your gauge has four types of measurement screen:
RF (Radio Frequency)
+RECT (Rectified Radio Frequency, positive polarity)
-RECT (Rectified Radio Frequency, negative polarity)
RECTFW (Full Wave Rectified Radio Frequency)
To see the measurement screen, press MEAS.
To select which measurement screen to use, select MEAS/DISP/VIEW and then select RF, +RECT,
-RECT or RECTFW.
14.1 ITEMS COMMON TO ALL MEASUREMENT SCREENS
A number of items are common to all the measurement screens:

Indicates the battery life remaining.
When taking readings, this indicator shows the
stability/repeatability of the sound path signal. When all the
vertical bars are fully illuminated the repeatability of the sound
path is stable.
