The Call Recorder Single Digital has an Ethernet port. The network
interface supports the following protocols:
FTP server
SMTP client for sending email messages to a SMTP server
Telnet for remote configuration
NTP for automated adjustments of the system clock
A propriety protocol for streaming audio for remote monitoring
FTP server is used by the Call Recorder Access System for network access
to the database in the recorders and playback and archiving of
recordings. It can also be used to give other (custom) applications access
to the recordings in the recorder.
SMTP gives the recorder the ability to send emails. This has two
functions. The first one is that the recorder can send recordings as an
attachment to the user. The second is that the recorder can send status
updates about the system health, for example that the telephone line is
disconnected or that the system is ok.
Telnet give the possibility to a systems manager to access an internal
settings menu from remote.
The NTP (Network Time Protocol) is a great method to synchronise the
clock of the recorder with an external one somewhere on the network.
RTR monitoring is available for users of this special PC software. It will
be described later in this manual.
