Mode Commands

Note : There are two modes of operation that may intersect: Redundancy Mode and
Automatic Mode.
Redundancy Mode
Comtech EFData's SSPA family is designed to automatically sense and configure into redundancy mode when the
redundant loop cable is connected. Polling on the dedicated redundancy buss will not begin until the redundancy loop
cable is connected. Each SSPA's designation in a redundant subsystem is determined automatically via the
redundancy interface cable connected between the two (1:1 subsystem) or three (1:2 subsystem) SSPAs in the
redundant subsystem.

Remote Control
Where:
y = A for Auto
M for Manual
The default is Off.
This command provides for automatic
switching by the backup SSPA if both units
are in the Redundancy Mode. This command
is only accepted by the backup SSPA. If a
primary SSPA is set in Manual Mode and a
fault occurs, the backup SSPA will log the
occurrence and not act upon further
information from the SSPA until put into
Automatic Mode.
Where:
x = 1 or 2 SSPA number.
Y = F to force a backup
N = to remove a backup
zzzzz = NONE, if no backup active.
ACTIVE, if an automatic backup
has occurred.
FORCED, if a forced backup is
active.
This command allows the user to force a
backup condition for mainternace and test
purposes. This command must be sent to the
SSPA designated as the backup SSPA to
configure the Waveguide switch to a position
such that the backup SSPA is Online and the
primary SSPA is Offline.
Where x = 1 or 2
This command allows the user to assign
prority when operating in a 1:2 redundant
subsystem. This command provides
arbitration in the event that both primary
SSPAs are faulted simulataneously.
